Instructions

20CT HELIUM TANK
  1. Lift tank out of box by handles.
  2. Eye protection should be worn for all following steps.
  3. Locate the supplied nozzle which can be found in the bag attached to the tank. Then, screw the nozzle down clockwise until fully tightened onto the valve base.
  4. When filling balloons, do not put your face directly over the filling nozzle.

20CT HELIUM TANK
  1. Hold balloon with both hands. Stretch the opening to slide balloon neck onto nozzle.
  2. Pinch balloon neck and bend the nozzle gently to release helium.
  3. Fill balloon with helium to size specified on packaging. Do not overinflate.
  4. To remove balloon, pinch at the tip of the nozzle and slide off at neck.

20CT HELIUM TANK
  1. Please do not allow your helium-filled balloons to get out of your reach. Tie a knot at balloon neck and attach ribbon or string.
  2. If you have remaining helium in the tank, carefully remove nozzle counterclockwise and attach the supplied dust cap to the valve. Store tank in original box, in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children.

Inflating tips

Inflate balloons 1-2 hours before your party starts for best results.

The number of balloons you can inflate depends on the size and shape of the balloon you chose to create.  Do not over-inflate balloons.

Float Time Chart**

Reference the below chart for how long each balloon type will continue to float when inflated with helium. On average, you can inflate more 9ʺ latex balloons with each tank than larger foil balloons. However, foil balloons will float longer.

Balloon type/size Average Float Time
9" Latex
6-8 hours
11" Latex
12 hours
18" Foil
1 week

**Balloon inflation figures are based on indoor estimates at room temperature. Altitude, temperature, atmospheric pressure and humidity will affect float time and balloon size.

Recycling + Disposal

Ensure the safe and proper disposal of your Helium Balloon Tank by following these instructions.

Consult your local municipality or waste removal service to determine if disposable helium tank recycling is available. Bring your empty helium tank to a well-ventilated area.

20CT HELIUM TANK
  1. To confirm that the tank is empty, screw the tilt nozzle down clockwise onto the tank valve and press the nozzle horizontally to release all the helium. Make sure all helium is released. If you hear or feel helium being released, continue to hold until you do not feel any pressure or hear any sound from the nozzle.

20CT HELIUM TANK
  1. When the tank is empty, unscrew the nozzle anti-clockwise to remove.

20CT HELIUM TANK
  1. On the balloon tank near the blowout valve write “EMPTY” in bold text with a permanent marker, so that it is clearly visible. Please take the empty tank to a household recycling center or civic amenity site, or if permissible, leave with curb side recycling.

20CT HELIUM TANK
  1. If the recycling center, or curb side collection requires the blowout valve to be open to confirm that the tank is empty, take the following steps. The use of eye protection is advisable for this process. Locate the blowout valve on the shoulder of the balloon tank. Using a slotted (flat head) screwdriver, position the head in the depression at the edge of the ring, then, taking a mallet or hammer, tap the handle of the screwdriver lightly but firmly. Repeat in multiple places around the ring edge, until the metal ring covering the blowout valve is punctured.

20CT HELIUM TANK
  1. The punctured ring may be sharp. To avoid injury, use needle-nose or a similar type of pliers to pry the ring away from the helium tank, and place it in the trash.

20CT HELIUM TANK
  1. In addition to writing the word “EMPTY” in permanent marker, draw a circle around the punctured blowout valve.

NOTE: If recycling options are not available to you, please follow instructions 1 through 6 above, and place the disposable helium tank in your household trash.
